What you will do
Are you looking to gain Heating Ventilation & Air Condition (HVAC) knowledge and learn firsthand from industry leading professionals Our team will give you this opportunity in addition we provide factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA). We will equip you with tools and a vehicle to perform your job at the highest our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

How you will do it

  • First or Second year apprentices will be trained and will perform work on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.

  • Apprentices will participate in certified trainings through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition monetary rewards and advancement.

  • Through coaching and mentorship apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs.

  • You will keep JCI contractors and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed.

  • Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.

  • Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

  • First- or second-year apprentice with the ability and willingness to join Local 488 if not already a member.

  • Interests in the industry servicing mechanical and Controls systems in the HVAC-R fields.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in how systems work

  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians

  • Physically capable of lifting climbing ladders and working in varying environments

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work

  • Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.

  • Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently.

  • Prioritize safety in all forms.

  • This position requires a valid Alberta drivers license.

Technical & Practical Skills

  • Basic understanding of tools mechanical systems or construction environments

  • Ability to read simple drawings instructions or work orders

  • Comfortable using hand and power tools

  • Basic troubleshooting or problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication skills when working with team and customers

Relevant Experience & Transferable Skills

  • Mechanics

  • Millwrights

  • Electrician

  • Construction and field work

  • Controls and instrumentation

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $28.87-34.64 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education experienceknowledge skills and abilities of the applicant internal equity and alignment with marketdata.)
