We are seeking Health Safety and Environment Students for ourOttawa District within ourCanadian Buildings Division that are available for4 monthsfrom September 2026 to December 2026.
Heres how a Health Safety and Environment Student for our Ottawa office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
Assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations
Managing documents (ie. data entry SMC entries taking minutes filing etc.)
Assisting with the orientation of new employees
Developing of training materials
Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI tailgate meetings safework procedure trend analysis)
Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program
Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements
Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district
Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information
Interpreting communicating and reinforcing project safety standards to workforce
Qualifications
Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures
Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance
Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards The ability to determine the cause of an incident and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong willingness to learn
The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37 $31.33 based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
