HSE Manager
Job Summary
This role is based out of Ottawa Ontario.
Oversee and support HSE Coordinators and Advisors across multiple project sites providing coaching mentorship and technical guidance.
Ensure consistent implementation of HSE policies procedures and strategic initiatives in alignment with businessobjectives.
Collaborate with project management teams and engineers to integrate HSE requirements into project planning execution and milestone monitoring.
Analyze and interpret complex systems of workidentifyingopportunities for risk reduction and process improvement.
Utilize mobile technology and digital platforms for data collection reporting and communication.
Monitor project progress ensuring HSE compliance at all stages and supporting teams in meeting project milestones.
Lead incident investigations root cause analysis and corrective action implementation across sites.
Foster a culture of safety excellence and continuous improvement through regular site visits training and engagement.
Prepare and present HSE performance reports to senior leadership.
Stay current with industry best practices regulatory requirements and emerging technologies.
University degree in Occupational Health & Safety Engineering Environmental Science or a related field (required).
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or actively working towards certification (required).
The ability to obtain a level 4 OPP security clearance.
8 years of progressive HSE experience in construction or related industries with at least 3 years in leadership or multi-site oversight role.
Strong business acumen and proven ability to translate HSE strategy into operational results.
Demonstrated experience in project planning milestone monitoring and working with complex systems of work.
Proficient in the use of mobile technology safety management software and digital reporting tools.
Excellent communication leadership and interpersonal skills.
Experience collaborating with project management teams and engineers with a solid understanding of end-to-end project processes.
Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to multiple sites within the Ottawa region
