Heavy equipment mechanic

 Salary starting at 30$/H based on experience

 Day Shift : Monday to Friday 7AM to 4PM

Techo-Bloc is looking for a mechanic to maintain and repair its fleet of mobile equipment and company vehicles.

Our fleet includes a wide variety of equipment including more than 40 forklifts with capacities of 3000 lbs and above primarily Caterpillar Toyota Hyster and Linde models as well as aerial lifts wheel loaders and various company-owned vehicles.

You will work with a passionate and dynamic team where teamwork collaboration and mutual support are at the forefront.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance diagnostics and repairs on forklifts mobile equipment and the companys automotive fleet;
• Inspect equipment and verify the proper operation of Caterpillar Toyota Hyster and Linde forklifts;
• Diagnose mechanical electrical and hydraulic issues;
• Complete required repairs and replace defective parts using hand power and mechanical tools;
• Review inspection reports to identify and complete the work required to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently;
• Lubricate equipment and perform recommended preventive maintenance;
• Clean forklifts vehicles and heavy equipment using the appropriate tools and equipment;
• Test repaired equipment to confirm proper operation and ensure repairs meet manufacturer requirements;
• Keep tools and work areas clean safe and organized;
• Document all maintenance and repair work performed;
• Travel as needed between company facilities located within an approximately 5 km radius to perform maintenance and repairs;
• Perform any other related duties.

Qualifications :

• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in construction equipment mechanics automotive mechanics heavy vehicle mechanics or another relevant field;
• Experience in mobile equipment mechanics automotive mechanics or a related field;
• Knowledge of mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems;
• Basic knowledge of cutting fabrication and welding tools;
• Ability to read plans sketches technical manuals and service bulletins an asset;
• Ability to read technical documentation in both English and French an asset;
• Forklift operator certification an asset;
• Valid drivers licence;
• Strong autonomy resourcefulness and initiative;
• Strong analytical diagnostic and problem-solving skills;
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with different departments.

This is a physically demanding position. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23kg). Manual dexterity teamwork hand-eye co-ordination and a combination of sitting standing and walking required.
