Finning is seeking Heavy Duty Mechanics / Electrician Dual Ticket (preferred) to support our Mining client in this role you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and CAT C-175 Prime power units.

• Operate and repair Caterpillar generators in a powerhouse setting
• Diagnose and troubleshoot C175 engine or genset repairs
• Diagnosis and repair engines generator fuel system heat exchangers and PLC controllers in the powerhouse
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (daily service reports warranty crossover notes inspections)
• Interact with customers sales support and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor on various tasks as required

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician or Dual Ticket Electrical and HET Certified
• Preference given to Dual Ticket Electrical and HET Certified
• Valid drivers licence with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Prior powerhouse operation experience would be considered an asset
• Supervisory control system experience including Woodward SCADA DSLC emcp 4.1-4.4 would be considered an asset
• Completion of Finning S-Levels Failure Analysis Machine Electronic Controls or Tier 4 training would be considered an asset
• Previous Caterpillar power generation or mining experience would be considered an asset

Important Details:

• Schedule:
  • 12 Hours per Day - Paid on a 5x2 schedule
  • 14x14 Continuous Day Shift / Night Shift Rotation
• Travel Assistance to get to marshalling point (tax free)
• Up to $1200 per rotation (to cover associated costs of getting to marshalling point)
• Customer flights provided from Edmonton or Yellowknife
• Customer Camp provided
