Health Promotion Practicum (Unpaid)

Our employees primarily work on-site to foster collaboration connection and effective service delivery. Depending on the role and operational needs flexible or hybrid work arrangements may be available in certain circumstances.

There are two student projects available for the semester:

The Equity Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) project will work alongside members of the EDI Advisory Committee the student will support the Advisory Committees work through:
Creating and piloting an EDI focused training course for Agency employees utilizing Articulate.
Supporting the preparation of the bi-yearly staff demographics survey.
Assisting with an EDI focused building audit at all 3 office locations (Guelph Fergus and Orangeville).

The Substance Use project will support Public Health initiatives aimed at addressing stigma related to substance use and improving access to Naloxone. Activities may include:
Reviewing and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative information.
Developing an online learning module using Articulate.
Supporting outreach to expand Naloxone distribution.

Regular office hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Must be currently enrolled in a Masters program as an active student in an accredited school/academic program as recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities. Students in Masters programs in the fields of Public Health Science in Epidemiology Health Promotion and Health Evaluation will be considered.
Ability to work independently (under the supervision of a practicum placement staff).
Strong research and data analysis skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
