Position Summary

As a Graphic Designer with experience in print design you will be introduced to security design and printing and receive training to undertake this specialized work. As your experience increases you will learn to design a variety of secure documents including Driver Licences Identification Cards Travel Documents and Banknotes. Leveraging both traditional design expertise and emerging AI-assisted creative technologies you will contribute to the development of visually compelling secure and production-ready solutions that meet stringent client regulatory and manufacturing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Become immersed in the Security Printing industry and undergo all appropriate training to enable you to create secure documents from concept through to production-ready artwork.
• Create visually appealing and impactful designs that support CBN client needs and initiatives. Collaborate with various internal departments (Business Development Marketing Manufacturing etc.) throughout the design process to ensure alignment compliance and successful project execution.
• Utilize AI-enabled design and creative tools to support concept development design exploration image generation image enhancement asset creation and workflow efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of quality originality and security.
• Review refine and adapt AI-generated outputs to ensure they meet design objectives technical specifications accessibility considerations brand standards and production requirements.
• Evaluate and incorporate emerging design technologies and industry best practices to enhance creative processes and support continuous innovation within the design team.
• Apply sound professional judgment when using AI tools ensuring compliance with organizational policies intellectual property requirements privacy considerations and security standards.
• Manage your own projects and ensure all deliverables are completed on time and are suitable for client presentation or production.
• Work independently or collaboratively with other Design Team members as required.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design workflows tools and creative processes within a secure production environment.

Qualifications :

Mandatory Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Fluent in English
• Able to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) security clearance

Minimum Qualifications

• College diploma in Graphic Arts Graphic Design Visual Communications (or a related field) or equivalent additional years of relevant experience.

• Strong knowledge of graphic design principles layout and composition typography colour theory print production processes and requirements and ability to create visually compelling designs while adhering to technical specifications and production requirements.
• Knowledge of prompt engineering techniques for visual content generation and ability to critically evaluate refine and improve AI-generated outputs to ensure quality originality and suitability for production.

• Understanding of responsible AI practices including intellectual property considerations copyright compliance privacy and security considerations content authenticity and attribution
• Proficiency with:
  • Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop Illustrator and InDesign
  • Adobe Firefly Adobe Generative Fill Microsoft Copilot Midjourney DALL-E or other generative AI design platforms
  • Microsoft 365 applications including Word PowerPoint and SharePoint

• 3 years of graphic design experience in a print production environment.
• Experience leveraging AI tools for concept exploration visual ideation image generation and enhancement creative asset development workflow optimization
• Experience creating production-ready artwork and managing projects from concept through final delivery.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and execute design solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Graphic Arts or additional training in digital design user experience design design technology or emerging creative technologies.

• 5 years of graphic design experience in print production environment.
• Experience working in a print production environment.
• Experience evaluating and adopting new creative technologies to improve design workflows.

• Digital curiosity and interest in emerging creative technologies.
• Continuous learning mindset and commitment to professional development.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve creative processes through technology and innovation.
