Job Summary
Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotels employment policies and practices including hiring firing discipline staffing compensation benefits and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International Inc.
- Creates champions and ensures outstanding and passionate standards of food and beverage product and service are provided to guests of Massimos Italian Fallsview Restaurant and the Fallsview Grand buffet according to Company and any related Brand standards.
- In co-operation with the Hotels Executive Chef General Manager and Sales team- Develops recommends implements and manages the divisions finalized annual budget and related group business sales plans- adjusted for seasonal business variability.
- Achieves and/ or exceeds budgeted revenues and expenses and maximizes profitability related to each restaurant through effective and efficient staff selection and hiring scheduling staff training direction ( in both union and non-union work environments) and focused upselling of dining products and services to guests
- Contributes to the profitability and guest satisfaction perception of other hotel departments by maintaining outstanding levels of guest service satisfaction; seeks to continuously challenge and raise guest satisfaction levels in both food and beverage preparation and delivery
- Sets the primary example of all Food and Beverage staff with respect to outstanding attention to detail passionate and responsive service to our guests; manages in compliance with established resort policies and procedures as well as local provincial and federal laws and regulations.
- Develops short and long term financial and operational business plans for the food and beverage department to support the overall objectives of the hotel.
- Previous accomplished experience managing day to day Front of House operations - in a comparable 4 diamond resort or equivalent hotel environment with volumes fluctuating by seasonality;
- Four or five years of progressive employment in a fine Dining Restaurant an asset;
- Previous experience in both union and non-union work environments and ability to manage 2 different restaurant concepts at the same time ( A la carte and Buffet )
- Excellent communication skills to negotiate convince sell and influence the Food Beverage staff as well as working along with and in co-operation with other hotel and resort managerial personnel hotel guests and/or corporate clients.
