Join our team as a General Accountant!

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized General Accountant to support the organizations day-to-day financial operations. This role is responsible for a variety of accounting functions which may include accounts payable accounts receivable or program manager expenses ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately efficiently and in accordance with agency policies and accounting standards.

The successful candidate will be accurate dependable and able to manage multiple priorities while building positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They will take pride in producing high-quality work demonstrate sound problem-solving skills and contribute to the continued success of the team.

What We Are Looking For:

Education and Professional Certification

  • A certificate diploma or degree in accounting business or a related field of study.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of accounting experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook.
  • Experience working with enterprise accounting software.

Skills and Characteristics

  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently and efficiently.
  • Ability to perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy and with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to self audit to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • A strong understanding of organizational accounting and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to form professional working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new situations quickly.
  • Able to grasp the essence of new information to develop new insights into situations to refine and improve existing concepts processes and services.
  • Open to continuous education and learning and development opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day accounting operations within accounts payable accounts receivable or program manager expenses.
  • Process financial transactions accurately and ensure supporting documentation is complete and maintained.
  • Prepare and process invoices payments deposits reconciliations and other accounting transactions as assigned.
  • Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies respond to inquiries and provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare reports in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with agency policies procedures internal controls and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with employees vendors customers and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge supporting colleagues and participating in the onboarding and training of new staff.

Additional Requirements

The incumbent is responsible for completing all mandatory training requirements for the position as per agency policy and guidelines.

Wage Range: $24.50 to $27.19 per hour.
