Reporting to the Controller youll play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the organization while contributing to the continued success of one of Canadas leading insurance brokerages.
What does the Finance Administrator do
As a Finance Administrator youll help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations by supporting a variety of accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing full-cycle accounting activities and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Processing accounts payable and ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time.
- Managing accounts receivable recording incoming payments and following up on outstanding balances.
- Assisting with monthly bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies.
- Supporting the preparation analysis and payment of monthly commissions for branch offices and Head Office employees.
- Entering and reconciling financial data within our accounting and broker management systems.
- Monitoring and responding to accounting inquiries and internal support tickets while meeting established service standards.
- Assisting with annual audit preparation including working papers and supporting documentation.
- Helping maintain internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and applicable legislation.
- Collaborating with Finance and cross-functional teams to improve processes and support ongoing initiatives.
- Assisting with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as required.

Qualifications
- Completion of a two-year College diploma (or equivalent) in Accounting Bookkeeping Finance or a related field.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in accounting bookkeeping or finance.
- Strong computer skills with experience using accounting software (ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.
Assets
- Previous experience working within the insurance industry.
- Experience working with broker management systems or commission processing.
- Knowledge of Powerbroker is considered an asset.
