Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Field Technician Equipment Maintenance Specialist for a new position to be based out of our Vaughan Ontario office and mapped to the Markham Ontario office. This position will support municipal flow monitoring and infrastructure monitoring programs throughout York Region Toronto Hamilton and surrounding areas.

This position is expected to start as soon as possible.

This is a full-time field-based position involving a 40-hour work week with optional paid overtime. Successful candidates will work as part of a two-person field crew responsible for planning and performing scheduled field maintenance activities installing and maintaining flow monitoring equipment and supporting data collection programs for municipal infrastructure projects related to wastewater and stormwater systems.

AECOM will provide all required training including:

  • Defensive driving

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Work under supervision of a Project Manager or senior technical staff.
  • Travel regularly to municipal infrastructure sites.
  • Perform assigned tasks using established procedures standard techniques and safety protocols.
  • Assist with the installation operation inspection calibration troubleshooting maintenance and repair of flow monitoring equipment.
  • Perform field activities including flow meter installations maintenance and repair as well as rain gauge calibrations.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance repairs and asset management activities for monitoring equipment and related infrastructure assets.
  • Support flow monitoring data quality assurance analysis and reporting activities.
  • Collect verify and document field equipment measurements and operational data.
  • Maintain accurate field records inspection and maintenance logs equipment inventories and project documentation.
  • Identify and resolve routine equipment maintenance and repair issues to verify compliance with project requirements and operational standards.
  • Utilize industry-standard software including Microsoft Office ArcGIS and other data management tools.
  • Coordinate daily field activities based on scheduled work orders and project priorities.
  • Follow established health and safety procedures company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to AECOMs health safety and quality requirements at all times.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • High-school diploma.
  • Valid Ontario Class G Drivers Licence and satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability and willingness to perform hands-on field work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools equipment and instrumentation.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small field crew and follow established procedures and safety requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College certificate or diploma in Civil Engineering Technology Environmental Technology Mechanical Technology Electrical Technology GIS or related discipline.
  • Experience performing field inspections equipment maintenance utility inspections or municipal infrastructure work.
  • Experience working with electronic mechanical or instrumentation equipment.
  • Experience using ArcGIS or similar GIS software for maps figures and drawings.
  • Understanding of wastewater collection systems stormwater infrastructure and flow monitoring equipment.
  • Experience working with monitoring instrumentation sensors or data loggers.
  • Familiarity with confined space entry traffic control working at heights or similar health and safety programs.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps drawings and site plans.
