Working as a Health Care Assistant at Senior Helpers of Vancouver provides a unique opportunity for a truly rewarding career in a field you can be proud of. Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing grooming and dressing
- Assisting clients with instrumental activities of daily living such as light housekeeping meal preparation
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in the clients condition to the healthcare team
- Providing assistance with mobility and transferring patients safely
- Supporting patients with eating and drinking adhering to dietary requirements
- Assisting with medication reminders and medication administration under supervision
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients
- Providing emotional support and companionship to patients and their families
Qualifications:
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanour
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.
- Professional proficiency in Farsi is required to communicate effectively with clients and their families
Requirements:
- Current registration with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program
- Previous experience working as a Health Care Assistant in a healthcare setting(minimum 1 year)
- Negative TB testcompleted in the past 90 days
- A negativeCriminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 90 days
- Certification in CPR and First Aid(preferred)
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to work various shifts including evenings and weekends
Benefits:
