Permanent Full-Time Opportunity

Position Overview

This position is responsible for supporting the extrusion production plan while maintainingproduct quality throughout the process including material handling raw material formulation quality checksand extrusion operations. The successful candidate will also support preventative maintenance andequipment troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily production operations on plastic extrusion lines while maintaining production schedulesand workflow.
• Perform job changeovers on extrusion lines and downstream equipment.
• Operate extrusion machinery including start-ups shutdowns adjustments troubleshooting and processoptimization.
• Configure and adjust machine controls and operating parameters to achieve required setup andproduction performance.
• Maintain proper organization and storage of tools and equipment associated with the productionprocess.
• Perform quality inspections and ensure products meet established standards.
• Monitor production efficiency and target output rates.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and support process improvements that reduce material wasteand scrap.
• Work across day afternoon and night shifts on a rotating schedule as required.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness around extrusion lines and work areasincluding removal of purge and routine machine/work-area cleaning.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Post-secondary education or equivalent.
• Ability to read write understand and communicate effectively in English.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs during an eight-hour shift.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and stand for the duration of the shift.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Availability to work weekends when required.
• Mechanical aptitude is an asset.
• Understanding of plastic formulations is an asset.
• Valid forklift licence.
