Experienced Shop & Equipment Technician

We are looking for an experienced mechanically inclined Shop Hand who is comfortable taking on a wide variety of tasks. This is a jack-of-all-trades position suited to someone who is confident around vehicles trailers equipment and general shop work. This position is a Monday to Friday schedule with the occasional evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate must be dependable safety-minded physically capable and able to recognize what needs to be done and take initiative.

Candidates must have at least three years of relevant hands-on experience involving:

• Connecting towing and maneuvering trailers including gooseneck and trailers up to 40 feet

• Operating skid steers and forklifts confidently - not simply at a basic competency level

• Performing basic vehicle maintenance troubleshooting and mechanically inclined work

• Completing general repairs maintenance and miscellaneous hands-on shop tasks

• Loading unloading moving and organizing equipment and materials

• Performing physically demanding work including regularly lifting and carrying 5075 lbs.

Applicants must have all of the following to be considered:

• Valid Class 5 drivers license

• Reliable personal vehicle

• Valid forklift certification

• Minimum three years of relevant experience

• Strong mechanical aptitude

• Ability to safely perform physically demanding work

Preferred Qualifications

The following experience and certifications are considered assets but are not required:

• Skid steer certification

• Welding experience

• Experience inspecting servicing or handling fire extinguishers

• Experience handling welding gas cylinders

• H2S Alive

• Confined Space Entry

• Fall Protection

• Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)
