:59 PMCBC Production Services is seeking Casual EVS Replay Operators to support live sports productions special events and future major-event coverage.
This posting is intended to establish a pool of qualified short-term employees who can support replay playback and media management operations across a variety of CBC and CBC Sports productions. Successful candidates may be engaged on an event-by-event basis and will have opportunities to contribute to national sport broadcasts and major event coverage.
About the Role
EVS Replay plays a key role in live sports production by supporting replay highlights creation clip management and playback for live production originating from the Toronto Broadcast Centre.
Working closely with producers directors and technical teams Operators ensure timely access to game action and production elements in fast-paced live environments.
Key Responsibilities
Operate EVS replay and playback systems during live sports productions and special events
Capture organize and retrieve game action highlights and production elements for use during live broadcasts
Support replay clip creation playback and media management workflows
Work collaboratively with producers directors and technical teams to support editorial and production requirements
Support group effort for quality control from a technical perspective
Assist with archiving and media management
Monitor system functionality and escalate technical concerns when required
Maintain strong awareness of live production priorities and changing editorial requirements
Support evolving production workflows and operational initiatives
Qualifications
Candidates should possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
Broadcast playback and live production
Sports news or entertainment production
Video Editing and media management
Control room or technical operations
The following are considered assets:
Previous EVS operating experience
Formal EVS training including EVS Broadcast Equipment training programs
Experience supporting EVS during major sporting events or live event productions
Experience in large scale broadcast environments
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication problem solving and organizational skills and be able to work effectively in the fast-paced live production environment at the CBC.
Development Opportunities
Candidates with relevant broadcast production experience strong technical aptitude and an interest in sports production may be considered for future EVS training and development opportunities in support of CBC Sports operations and major events productions.
