As the Engineering Manager you will lead the teams engineering function and deliver on ambitious 0-1 roadmaps.

You Will:

• Manage engineers to design develop and deliver scalable architecture intelligent personalization and targeted experiences for a range of customer segments.
• Partner with product and design stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap and translate the companys strategic ambitions into actionable OKRs.
• Hire and grow the engineering team recruiting and onboarding experienced engineers.
• Be a role model for our cultural values and mentor engineers in technical skillset autonomy communication and collaboration.
• Ensure engineering best practices quality and operational excellence across the team.

You Have:

• An Engineering Manager within commuting distance of the Burnaby BC office.
• 10 years of software engineering experience
• 3 years experience in an engineering leadership role with a track record managing small teams and delivering complex full-stack / front-end-heavy projects.
• Expertise in at least one general application-development language (Go Java JavaScript/TypeScript Python etc.) with a preference for React/React Native familiarity given Homes front-end surface.
• Demonstrated aptitude and judgment for applying AI to developer productivity and ideally product features including enabling safe AI tool adoption on the team.
• Ability to design secure scalable performant software and give constructive feedback on team designs.
• A track record coaching developers via mentoring reviews and retrospectives.
• Strong partnership skills with product and design stakeholders communicating technical tradeoffs and applying product judgment to reach the best customer outcomes.
• Experience recruiting and growing engineering teams from the ground up.

Compensation Details: The starting base salary range for this position is typically $152000 - $190000 Canada Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
