Engineering Intern

POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Intern will support engineering telecommunications and technology projects while gaining practical hands-on experience in a fast paced work environment. Working alongside experienced engineering and technical professionals the intern will assist with system deployments technical documentation troubleshooting activities data analysis and project execution.

This position is designed to provide meaningful exposure to telecommunications infrastructure satellite communications networking technologies and field operations while helping students apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety and Company Values

Engineering and Technical Support

• Assist with the installation configuration testing and activation of communications and networking equipment.
• Support Starlink and ancillary communications equipment deployment projects.
• Assist with system inspections diagnostics and equipment evaluations.
• Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities under the guidance of experienced team members.
• Support system testing and validation activities.
• Assist in gathering and analyzing technical data to support engineering projects.
• Support network monitoring and performance analysis activities.
• Assist with technical documentation procedures drawings and project records.
• Participate in project planning execution and closeout activities.
• Utilize company software platforms ticketing systems and customer relationship management tools to document work activities.

Collaboration and Learning

• Work collaboratively with engineering operations technical support and project teams.
• Participate in site visits and field activities as assigned.
• Contribute ideas for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Complete assigned learning and development activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering degree program.
• Preferred disciplines include:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Software Engineering
  • Telecommunications Engineering
  • Network Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Related technical disciplines

Experience

• Previous internship co-op academic project laboratory experience or extracurricular technical experience is considered an asset but is not required.

• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Assets

• Basic understanding of networking concepts IP addressing routers and wireless communications.
• Familiarity with telecommunications or IT systems.
• Experience with programming languages such as Java C# Python or similar.
• Exposure to Power BI or data visualization tools.
• Experience with technical documentation or testing activities.
• Interest in satellite communications networking or industrial technology solutions.
