Engineering Assurance Analyst (Electrification & Plant Asset Management)

This role is an in-office position based at the 20 Bay Streetlocation. Our team is highly collaborative and much of our work benefits from in-person co-creation relationship-building and hands-on partnership across the organization.

The Electrification and Plant department within the Engineering and Safety Division is seeking an Engineering Assurance Analyst to provide structured technical analysis assurance coordination assurance evidence management and lifecycle traceability for the expanding GO Expansion and Rapid Transit electrification portfolio.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Electrification you will support engineering assurance reviews from project development and design through construction testing commissioning handover and early operations. You will help confirm that technical submissions and assurance reviews asset information lifecycle-support evidence configuration records and residual risks are complete coherent traceable and suitable for Asset Owner decisions.

You will work closely with Capital Project Group Engineering Asset Management Risk Operations maintainers project delivery partners consultants and contractors. The role will coordinate assurance submissions maintain controlled registers of respective artifacts evaluate maintainability and operational-readiness evidence and prepare concise reporting for technical and governance forums.

What Will I Be Doing

• Develop maintain and improve engineering assurance procedures templates guidance review criteria and governance records.
• Review and coordinate project submissions design packages Integrated Design Review deliverables requests for information deviations technical queries and lifecycle-support evidence.
• Maintain controlled assurance registers covering requirements interfaces technical comments actions decisions evidence gaps residual risks owners and closure status.
• Support engineering assurance reviews across project development design construction testing commissioning handover entry into service and early operations.
• Evaluate Concepts of Maintenance maintainability operability O&M readiness asset-information completeness configuration status and lifecycle-support requirements.
• Support requirements traceability and maintain clear links among asset-class systems interfaces technical evidence risks actions approvals and closure records.
• Conduct or support asset-management assurance reviews compliance audits configuration checks data-quality reviews site inspections field walkdowns and evidence-verification activities.
• Support risk criticality FMECA FRACAS root-cause analysis hazard and residual-risk reviews ensuring resulting actions are assigned tracked and supported by evidence.
• Prepare assurance dashboards metrics governance papers executive summaries decision records and performance reports for technical and management forums.
• Maintain assurance evidence repositories asset-information links document controls and data-quality checks to support auditable decision-making.
• Support design reviews testing and commissioning activities handover-readiness assessments and the closure of interface and acceptance actions.
• Provide technically traceable support to Operations Asset Management and capital-project teams regarding defects failures configuration concerns and emerging lifecycle issues.
• Develop training materials practical guidance and knowledge-transfer resources to strengthen consistent engineering assurance practices.
• Escalate incomplete conflicting or high-risk evidence to the appropriate technical authority or governance forum and support timely resolution.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need

• Completion of a University Degree or Diploma in engineering engineering technology asset management systems engineering or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in the engineering field.
• Demonstrated experience supporting engineering projects engineering assurance systems assurance asset management configuration management or technical governance in rail transit utilities infrastructure or another complex asset environment.
• Knowledge of project lifecycles including planning design construction testing commissioning handover entry into service operations and maintenance.
• Ability to review technical submissions design packages assurance deliverables requirements interface records risk records commissioning evidence and asset-information deliverables.
• Experience maintaining controlled registers action logs evidence repositories requirements traceability decision records or other auditable governance documentation.
• Understanding of maintainability operability Concepts of Maintenance O&M readiness configuration control asset information and lifecycle-support principles.
• Knowledge of risk and reliability methods such as criticality assessment FMECA FRACAS root-cause analysis hazard review and residual-risk management is considered an asset.
• Experience supporting audits site inspections field walkdowns testing and commissioning handover compliance verification or evidence-assurance activities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to identify gaps inconsistencies dependencies and risks across complex technical information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Excel Word PowerPoint Teams and SharePoint; experience with Power BI requirements-management tools or asset-information systems is considered an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to translate complex technical evidence into clear summaries dashboards recommendations and decision records for technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to organize competing priorities coordinate input from multidisciplinary stakeholders follow actions to closure and work effectively with limited supervision.
• Knowledge of Canadian railway transit electrical safety quality engineering or asset-management standards and practices is considered an asset.
• Having a Professional Engineer license in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario or being in the process of obtaining it is considered an asset.
• Position might be required to be available outside of regular office hours as needed by projects delivery deadlines.
• A valid G Ontario drivers licence is required. The successful candidate must provide a valid Ontario G drivers licence or an equivalent Canadian driver licence abstract (within the last 3 Years).
