Hours/Shifts: Primarily daytime shifts; availability for on-call rotation and overtime as required.

An established manufacturing and service provider specializing in automated control systems and industrial instrumentation is seeking a skilled Technician to join their team. Operating for decades in the automation space the company supports diverse clients with high-quality system engineering product assembly and dedicated field maintenance.

The Ideal Profile
We are looking for a versatile technician with a diverse technical skill set spanning precision mechanical assembly fluid power pneumatics and low-voltage electrical troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities
  • Field Service & Diagnostics: Travel to client facilities across Western Canada and the United States to troubleshoot maintain and repair automated control systems and fluid power networks.
  • Component Teardowns & Overhauls: Perform detailed component teardowns in the shop and on-site. Inspect parts for wear or fatigue install rebuild kits reassemble and calibrate equipment to strict factory specifications.
  • Technical Documentation: Read and interpret system schematics engineering blueprints and circuit diagrams. Document field activities complete precise service reports and accurately note any documentation discrepancies for the engineering team.
  • System Installation & Piping: Assist with the mechanical installation of control equipment on-site including fabricating flexible hoses running rigid piping and performing precision tube bending.
  • Service Quoting Support: Collaborate with the internal service coordinator and management to provide accurate material lists and estimated labor hours for upcoming repair quotes.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 Years of Experience: Proven track record in industrial maintenance assembly or field service with a heavy emphasis on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Cross-Functional Aptitude: Strong mechanical foundation paired with basic electrical troubleshooting skills (e.g. tracing control circuits or diagnosing electrical faults tied to automated air/fluid lines).
  • Fabrication & Shop Skills: Competent using standard mechanics hand tools shop presses basic testing meters and standard fabrication equipment.
  • Schematic Literacy: Exceptional ability to read interpret and troubleshoot from complex industrial blueprints fluid power symbols and technical drawings.
  • Travel Flexibility: Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean abstract and the unrestricted ability to travel internationally including across the United States.
  • Communication: Professional verbal and written English skills for writing technical service reports and managing client relationships on-site.
