The Vancouver office is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. Projects executed in various sectors and consist of large EPCM and small operations support projects. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads a team of Electrical Engineers Designers and CAD personnel in the successful execution of electrical engineering and design for mining/mineral processing within budget and on schedule
- Provides technical leadership and guidance for the electrical team
- Mentor engineers-in-training and designers
- Prepare and check calculations as required
- Prepare electrical equipment specification packages
- Check vendor drawings and data for compliance with specifications
- Prepares detailed design supply construction and installation specifications
- Develop conceptual designs studies reports and proposals
- Ensures effective communication within project teams and with client engineers
- Track project metrics
- Report to Area Project Engineering Manager for project issues and to the overall Electrical Lead for functional issues
- Visit project sites and other Hatch design offices for project related activities as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineer with 7 years of relevant experience preferably in an EPCM environment for industrial projects
- Engineering degree and registered as a Professional Engineer with the P.E.O or another Canadian Professional Engineering Association
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of industry regulatory codes and standards
- Proficient with the following electrical design tools and software: SPEL ETAP SKM EasyPower and ASPEN
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within multi disciplinary teams
- Advanced computer skills
Base salary range:$96000 - $145000
