Job Summary
The Electrical Design Engineer II supports the design development testing and implementation of electrical and electronic systems products and assemblies. Working under the supervision of senior engineers this role assists in electrical design activities prototype development testing documentation and product improvements while developing technical expertise and engineering capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems circuits and electronic assemblies.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics wiring diagrams and engineering documentation.
- Support component selection and electrical calculations for new designs.
- Assist with prototype assembly testing validation and troubleshooting activities.
- Conduct laboratory testing using electrical measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes multimeters and power supplies.
- Analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
- Support engineering change orders (ECOs) design updates and product improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with mechanical manufacturing quality and supply chain teams to support project objectives.
- Ensure designs comply with customer requirements engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical input.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) design files and project documentation.
- Support product introduction activities and manufacturing issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in electrical design product development or manufacturing support.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and circuit design.
- Familiarity with electrical CAD and schematic capture tools.
- Knowledge of electrical testing methods and laboratory equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship co-op or project experience related to electrical design or electronics.
- Exposure to PCB design and layout tools.
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI concepts and testing practices.
- Experience with embedded systems or microcontrollers is an advantage.
