Job Summary

• This position requires planning and implementing a safe and rich early care and learning environment for the children within a licensedgroupchild caresetting in culturally diversecommunities. Educators must be able to adapt to diverse approaches and early childhoodpedagogies as led by individualchild careprograms.

Organizational Status

• Youwillwork collaborativelywith a team of Early Childhood Educators receivingdailyguidancefrom the Senior Early ChildhoodEducatorand reportingdirectly totheProgramManager. This position works within the policiesand proceduresof UBC Okanagan ChildCare Services andfosters strongpartnershipswithfellowEducatorsas well asthe parents and guardians of the children enrolled in the program.

Qualifications:

• A validEarly Childhood Educator Certificateto Practice in BC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engages with the British Columbia Early Learning Framework andcollaborates togetherwith the other Educators in constructing a creative and inclusive early care and learning environment thus supporting each childs emerging abilities.

• Creates andmaintainsrespectfulmeaningfuland professional relationships with families that reflect the role of the Educator andhonourparents and guardians as the primary caregivers.

• Advocates for qualitychild carefor individual children and families.

• Assists the Senior Early Childhood Educator with compliance requirements.

• Creates caring professional relationships with their colleagues that support the success of all teammembers and the program.

Required Experience:

• You are a qualified Early Childhood Educator withacurrent BC ECE certification current Emergency Child Care First Aid certification and a clear Criminal Record Check.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary:$26.47-27.54CAD Hourly

• $4 Wage Enhancement isadditionalto the posted salary

• Benefits:Benefits beginimmediatelyupon hire (employer paid)

• Vacation Pay:Starts at 4 weeks paid vacation(prorated to your start date)additional3 days between Boxing Day and News Years Day
