Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in planning preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate program and activities. Program schedules include indoor/outdoor active/quiet and individual group activities.
  • Ensures activities adhere to the BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
  • Monitor guide and assist children in daily activities.
  • Attends to childrens physical needs which may include diapering toileting eating and sleeping.
  • Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques. Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical cognitive emotional and social skills.
  • Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
  • Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.
  • Maintains records reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
  • Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians


Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process including a criminal record check

Hours: On call/as needed Monday to Friday between 7:30am and 5:30pm

Rate of Pay: $21.86 per hour
