Job Summary
We are looking for motivated responsible and reliable candidates to support the growth of our organization as Dredging Process Operators.
Reporting to the Branch Manager the Dredging Process Operator is responsible for processing residual materials using specialized equipment and technology while following GFL Environmental Services operational procedures
Key Responsibilities
Operate dredging vessels conveyors power systems and centrifuges used in residual material recovery and processing through mechanical and passive dewatering operations.
Follow all safety regulations and safe work practices.
Accurately and clearly document operations in real time.
Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with external resources when equipment breakdowns occur.
Conduct basic mechanical maintenance on certain equipment.
Demonstrate autonomy and complete daily tasks efficiently professionally and with minimal supervision.
Maintain client sites and ensure work areas remain clean and organized during project deployment.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Valid Class 5 drivers license required; Class 1 or 3 drivers license is considered an asset.
Our material recovery operations are deployed throughout Atlantic Canada.
Strong commitment to safety as our worksites maintain high safety standards.
Positive leader with a safety-first mindset self-motivated resourceful and an effective communicator.
Bilingualism is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 40 hours.
Daily per diem while deployed.
Hotel accommodation provided during deployments and travel.
Dredging operations typically run from April through mid-December.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience in an industrial construction excavation or heavy operations environment.
Excellent commitment to health and safety.
Good physical condition and ability to work outdoors.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid drivers license (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset).
