POSITION OVERVIEW
Community Banking is one of BDCs four Lines of Business and advances the Banks development mandate through scalable lending partnerships. Through loan guarantees co-lending participation programs lending facilities and wraparound solutions Community Banking expands access to capital and support for underserved entrepreneurs across Canada by working with financial institutions community lenders Indigenous organizations and ecosystem partners.
Reporting to the Vice President Collaborative Financing the Director Solutions Delivery will undertake an 18-month mandate to lead the design delivery and continuous evolution of Collaborative Financings strategic processes and solutions portfolio within the business line. The role acts as the primary business lead for technology transformation data AI and program delivery initiatives ensuring solutions are aligned with business objectives and delivered efficiently.
The Director oversees the implementation of new lending and non-lending programs from concept to launch and operationalization including business requirements solution design governance data strategy operational readiness vendor coordination performance measurement and change management.
Working across IT Risk Legal Procurement Operations Marketing Finance Strategy external partners and technology providers the Director strengthens Community Bankings target operating model improves scalability enhances controls reduces cost-to-serve and enables long-term growth and impact.
THE CHALLENGES TO BE MET
- Lead Community Bankings strategic delivery portfolio ensuring initiatives are prioritized governed and executed in alignment with business objectives.
- Manage complex programs from ideation and business case development through solution design implementation launch and transition to operations.
- Act as the primary business lead for technology digital transformation data AI and enterprise delivery initiatives impacting Community Banking.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of new lending and non-lending programs with financial institutions community lenders Indigenous organizations and ecosystem partners.
- Own the data and analytics roadmap including data governance migration integration reporting dashboards predictive analytics self-service capabilities and AI-enabled solutions.
- Evolve the target operating model by improving processes controls governance operational readiness service levels scalability and cost-to-serve.
- Lead business readiness change management training communications adoption audit remediation business continuity vendor governance and operational resilience activities.
- Translate business needs into solution designs requirements RFP documentation implementation plans procedures executive recommendations and governance materials.
- Build coach and develop a high-performing team focused on delivery excellence innovation accountability and continuous improvement as well as manage and guide consultants during mandates.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
REQUIRED ABILITIES
- University degree in business finance technology engineering public administration or a related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree is an asset.
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience leading complex business transformation program delivery product implementation or technology-enabled change initiatives.
- Deep project and program management experience including governance business case development prioritization delivery planning risk management stakeholder alignment and executive reporting.
- Strong understanding of lending financial services partnerships operations risk compliance procurement and technology delivery environments.
- Proven ability to translate business strategy into practical operating models scalable processes solution requirements implementation plans and measurable outcomes.
- Strong data analytics and digital acumen with the ability to lead data modernization performance measurement AI enablement reporting automation and insight-driven decision-making initiatives.
- Excellent executive communication skills including the ability to prepare clear recommendations governance materials presentations and decision documents for senior audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence collaborate and deliver outcomes across cross-functional teams external partners vendors and senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- People leadership experience with the ability to build coach and mobilize high-performing teams through ambiguity change and competing priorities.
