Director Real Estate Cost and Commerical

• Provide a full range of cost consulting services to new and existing clients. This involves a deep technical understanding of market conditions and construction estimation at all levels.
• Review and validate cost estimates across all real estate sectors
• Lead the cost management scope of works on projects including estimate preparation reviews budget checks benchmarking value engineering procurement advice bid levelling contract award recommendation and post contract commercial experience such as payment certification cash flow forecasting change management and cost reporting
• Undertake QA/QC reviews of deliverables
• Lead external meetings with clients and other third parties
• Provide advice to clients about cost estimates and other cost related topics including market trends and cost related impacts.
• Have a good understanding of construction contracts and procurement methodologies
• Lead the development of Proposals Bids & Tenders.
• Manage internal resourcing for effective project delivery management.
• Effectively manage and control commissions.
• Mentor lead and develop staff within the Cost Management team
• Partake in development initiatives to improve status quo. Drive continuous improvement of cost management processes and procedures.
• Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients
• Attending relevant networking events and other promotional opportunities

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 10 years of Quantity Surveying / Cost Estimating experience.
• Has an understanding of local market dynamics with experience navigating regional construction practices and standard contract forms.
• Confident and able to lead projects and work as part of a senior delivery team.
• Strong interpersonal skills to train and develop teams
• Robust and methodical analytical skills adaptable with experience leading effective teams.
• Bachelors Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Construction Management Quantity Surveying Building Science or in a related field
• Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or MRICS (preferred)

Desirable requirements:

• Have or be willing to apply to the Government of Canada Security Clearance
