We put people above all else strive to be our best and welcome new ideas to deliver positive Director Individual Wealth (IW) Pricing is an Actuary responsible for the pricing and financial understanding of Individual Wealth Actuarial pricing models. They are part of a team responsible for the current portfolio pricing of Guaranteed Deposit Accounts Payout Annuities Segregated Funds and a Pre-Need Funeral product as well as future product one of the regions top employers and be part of something that truly makes a Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo ON a minimum of two (2) assigned consecutive days every other week plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum youll do:Routine and ad-hoc pricing of IW productsProvide technical support in ensuring alignment of requirements spanning cross functional requirements including capital management risk management taxation stochastic scenario development asset pricing and investment strategies transition as they relate to pricingDirectly manage up to three actuarial staffOversee the preparation of custom quotesFrequent interactions with Sales and Distribution regarding new product pricingParticipation when necessary in relevant industry committees and working groupsParticipate in cross-functional working groups to consider implications of the new standards and develop key recommendations on key policy decisions from an IW perspectivePlay a leadership role in the development of quarterly reporting requirements and ensure alignment with IW Finance Corporate Finance and the Investment DivisionLead development of IW financial projection methodologies for business planBecome a Subject Matter Expert on Equitables Economic Scenario GeneratorWhat youll bring:University degree in mathematics or actuarial science and an FSA/FCIA designationStrong technical skills including IFRS 9/17 and LICAT background in life or savings productsMinimum 8 years of experience in the financial services industry including pricing and/or financial reportingMinimum 5 years of leadership experience and demonstrated people management skillsAbility to deliver project results on time with a high degree of qualityFoster a collaborative team environment and demonstrated ability to work across teams to get things doneProfessional communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex ideas to various audiencesFamiliarity with Segregated Fund and Payout annuity productsExcellent analytical problem solving and organizational skillsThorough knowledge of Moodys Axis Excel & AccessFamiliarity with ESGs and scenario developmentProven track record of working on multi-disciplinary teamsWhats in it for you:Career Growth: Regular learning sessions and developmentopportunitiesTotal Rewards: Incentive pay annual salary reviews employer-paid benefits and pensionmatchingTime Away: Competitive vacation plus one paid volunteer day each yearFlexibility: Healthy work-life balance with employee wellness always top of mind complemented by a dress for your day Equitable were committed to fair pay and an inclusive accessible hiring experience.
