Lead FCCs government relations strategy across Western Canada advancing strategic priorities and strengthening relationships with federal provincial territorial Indigenous and industry stakeholders. As a trusted strategic advisoryoullprovide senior executives with insight on public policy political dynamics parliamentaryaffairsand reputational risks that may affect FCCs mandateoperationsand licence tooperate.

In this roleyoullshape proactive engagement strategies strengthen FCCs external influence and support executive engagement with key decision-makers and act as a strategic connector between FCC business lines and government stakeholders to ensure FCCremainsaligned with evolving public policy priorities and external expectations.

Whatyoulldo

  • Lead the development and implementation of government relations strategies aligned with FCC priorities

  • Build andsustain strategicrelationships with federal provincial territorial Indigenous and industry stakeholders

  • Advise seniorexecutiveson political public policy parliamentary and stakeholder issues

  • Anticipateemerging legislativeregulatoryand parliamentary developments that couldimpactFCC

  • Leadgovernment relations support forparliamentary affairs ministerialrequestsand committee activities

  • Lead the development ofexecutive briefingspresentationsand strategic advice materials

  • Represent FCC in meetingsconsultationsand stakeholder forums

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align engagement activities government-facingmaterialsand external messaging

  • Identifyopportunities to advance FCCs public policyobjectivesand strengthen relationships across government and industry

  • Provide functional leadership within the Government Relations team fostering collaboration strategicthinkingand continuous improvement

Whatyoullbring to the team

Required qualifications

  • A bachelorsdegree in public administration political science communications business administrationlawor a related discipline

  • A minimum of 10years of progressively senior experience in government relations public policy parliamentary affairs stakeholderrelationsor a related field(or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Extensive knowledge of government parliamentarylegislativeand public policy processes

  • Strong understanding of the political regulatory and stakeholder environment affecting the agriculture and agri-food sector

  • Demonstrated experienceprovidingstrategic advice to senior executives on complexsensitiveor high-profile issues

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex government relations strategies across multiplejurisdictionsand stakeholder groups

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior government officials and external stakeholders

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience leading enterprise government relations strategies or stakeholder engagement plans

  • Experience influencing public policy development or legislative initiatives

  • Experience preparing executive briefingspresentationsand strategic materials

  • Experience supporting parliamentary affairs ministerialrequestsor committee-related activities

  • Experience advising senior leaders on sensitivecomplexor high-profile public policy issues

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple business lines

  • Experience working within or alongside Crown corporations financial institutions or the agriculture and agri-food sector
