Summary

Bells AI Fabric initiative is building Canadas largest sovereign AI infrastructure platform comprising seven large-scale high-density data centres across the country including a 500 MW British Columbia supercluster and afuture 1.2 GW flagship campus in Regina Saskatchewan.

Reporting to theVP Capital Programs the Director Engineering & Procurement is responsible for providing leadership across engineering governance technical strategy strategic sourcing procurement and supplier management for Bells national AI Fabric portfolio. This role will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams while overseeing the procurement of mission-critical infrastructure ensuring Bell secures and delivers the power cooling electrical mechanical network and modular systems required to support hyperscale AI operations. Working closely with Construction Program Controls Commissioning Operations Finance Legal and external partners the Director will drive engineering excellence commercial value supply chain resilience and successful project execution across a multi-billion-dollar capital program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering and procurement functions supporting Bell AI Fabric developments across multiple Canadian sites.
  • Establish engineering standards technical specifications design governance processes and quality assurance frameworks for mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Oversee engineering reviews and approvals for power distribution utility interconnections backup generation UPS systems cooling infrastructure liquid cooling technologies controls and related systems.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for major capital equipment engineering services and long-lead infrastructure components required for AI data centre development.
  • Lead supplier selection commercial negotiations contract management and strategic partnerships with OEMs engineering firms utilities EPC contractors and technology vendors.
  • Drive capacity planning infrastructure resiliency technology roadmaps and technical risk mitigation strategies supporting high-density AI and GPU workloads.
  • Partner with Construction Commissioning Operations and Program Controls teams to ensure engineering and procurement activities align with project schedules budgets and operational requirements.
  • Manage supply chain risks supplier performance cost optimization initiatives and procurement governance across the portfolio.
  • Provide executive-level recommendations regarding infrastructure investments commercial strategies engineering risks and project delivery performance.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team while fostering a culture of safety accountability innovation and continuous improvement.
Critical Qualifications
  • 12 years of progressive leadership experience in engineering procurement construction mission-critical facilities data centres energy infrastructure or large-scale capital programs.
  • 5 years of people leadership experience managing engineering procurement project delivery or integrated infrastructure teams.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering hyperscale data centres mission-critical facilities utility infrastructure or large-scale industrial construction projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in electrical distribution systems cooling infrastructure liquid cooling technologies resiliency design and mission-critical operations.
  • Proven success leading strategic sourcing initiatives complex commercial negotiations and major procurement programs.
  • Deep understanding of engineering governance capital project delivery EPC contracting models procurement practices and commissioning processes.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen including budget management forecasting business case development and contract administration.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management communication negotiation and executive presentation skills.
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Electrical Civil Construction Engineering or a related technical discipline; . designation strongly preferred.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced high-growth environment and travel as required to support projects across Canada.

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
