What youll do (the highlights)

As a direct support professional you will be part of a team and the go-to person for the people living in one of our community homes.

What that looks like:

  • Working a flexible schedule including days evenings and weekends.
  • Receiving support and guidance from your location supervisor.
  • Making sure the environment is clean safe and comfortable.
  • Providing personal hygiene grocery shopping housekeeping meal preparation and socialization.
  • Organizing the day and keeping accurate records are essential duties.
  • Encouraging and supporting people at DASCH to engage in community activities based on their likes and abilities.
  • Advocating for people at DASCH when needed keeping their best interests in mind.
  • Being a role model to people living at DASCH as you support their independence with respect and care.
What you bring (and why youll thrive here)

Your qualifications:

  • Completed Grade 10 in Canada or you have achieved Level 6 on the Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment.
  • A Class 5 Manitoba Drivers License (Intermediate Stage acceptable)
  • Have a smart device with internet access.
  • Experience with intellectual disabilities or a certificate in Disability and Community Support Health Care Aide or a related field is helpful.
