Job Summary
DevOps Engineer GitHub Enterprise GitHub Actions & CI/CD
Roles and Responsibilities:
Conduct hands-on research spikes and Proofs of Concept (POCs) to evaluate GitHub Enterprise features and migration tools.
Build and test prototype CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions reusable action templates and runner environments.
Compare GitHub Actions capabilities with existing Jenkins pipelines.
Set up and validate integrations between GitHub and Jenkins Artifactory SonarQube CDD Jira Confluence AWS and Kubernetes.
Test repository migration scripts and utilities from Bitbucket to GitHub identify edge cases and document findings.
Develop and test automation scripts using Python Bash and Groovy for REST API interactions configuration parsing and repetitive tasks.
Prepare spike reports technical summaries how-to guides and POC documentation.
Collaborate with senior engineers platform specialists and developers to gather feedback and refine solutions.
Skills Required:
25 years of practical experience in software development DevOps or systems engineering.
Working knowledge of Git and SCM including branching strategies pull requests and source control workflows.
Hands-on exposure to GitHub GitHub Enterprise or Bitbucket.
Experience building or modifying CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions Jenkins or similar platforms.
Practical scripting and programming experience with Python Bash or Groovy.
Experience working with REST APIs and automation.
Strong curiosity and experimentation mindset with hands-on troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with Maven or Gradle and artifact repositories such as Artifactory.
Strong communication and documentation skills including presenting POC findings and recommendations.
Nice to Have:
Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions including custom actions workflow automation and POC pipelines.
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with AWS cloud platforms and services.
Experience with code quality and security tools such as SonarQube Snyk or Checkmarx.
Familiarity with Jira Confluence and enterprise release management tools such as CDD.
Experience with Bitbucket-to-GitHub repository migration.
Foundational certifications such as GitHub Actions or GitHub Foundations.
