What Youll Be Doing
- Monitor and analyze daily weekly and monthly production costs.
- Track costs related to drilling blasting hauling crushing and processing.
- Provide detailed cost variance analysis and investigate root causes.
- Support annual budgets and forecasts for mining operations.
- Work with operational teams to improve efficiency and manage costs.
- Help ensure operational activities align with financial goals.
- Support the organization and accounting treatment of capital spending.
- Track and capitalize equipment and machinery costs in accordance with accounting policies.
- Work with Maintenance to ensure equipment machinery and other assets are appropriately accounted for and costed.
- Allocate labour materials overhead and other costs accurately across mining activities and cost centres.
- Support compliance with company accounting policies and applicable requirements.
- Participate in audits and internal control improvements.
- Work with ERP and cost accounting systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and timeliness of cost reporting.
- Have post-secondary education in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- Bring 4 years of accounting experience in mining or another heavy industry.
- Hold a professional accounting designation considered an asset.
- Understand cost control and cost allocation methods.
- Are proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Bring strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Enjoy solving problems and getting to the why behind the numbers.
- Understand the mining lifecycle and operational cost drivers.
Minimum Salary: $80000
