Job Summary
In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager Restorative Health provides daily supervision of designated staff oversees related operational activities and carries out a variety of administrative duties for an assigned area of responsibility.
- Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy; and
- Current practicing full licensure with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist; and
- Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Physiotherapists (CPA); and
- Completion of a recognized Department Management course or five (5) years recent related experience including three (3) years supervisory/management experience.
An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated ability in organization planning and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills when dealing with various professionals.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to implement current developments in the field of Rehabilitation Services and health care in general.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
