Job Summary
How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team:The Coordinator Accounting Services supports the coordination of key day-to-day financial activities and Responsibilities: Performs quality assurance review of accounts receivable and other financial activities for accuracy and completeness; collaborates with other accounting team members to ensure consistency in approachResponds escalated accounts receivable invoicing and general accounting inquiresIdentifies and investigates any issues with provider bills and obtains mutual resolution of discrepanciesAdministers and processes procurement card statement logs and monthly journal entry corporate vehicle and equipment usage and processing of 407 charges; reviews related monthly statements for accuracy and ensuring appropriate authorization in compliance with policyCreates and maintains financial accounting reports; supports month end close process forecasts cost analysis to support financial reporting and business/operational data and information to summarize account information identify trends and discrepancies that require attentionPrepares accounting reports and information as required for audit purposesWhat will you need to succeed:Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Commerce Finance Accounting or related fieldExperience 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting environmentKnowledge/Skill/Ability - CompetenciesSounds experience with financial systems management controls processes and toolsUnderstanding of transactional accounting principles Understanding and application of basic mathematical functions (e.g. adding subtracting measuring money computation)Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing clear correspondence (concise logical grammatically correct)Demonstrates responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and needsAbility to communicate effectively with tact and courtesyDemonstrated ability to prepare consultant terms of reference and procurement documentsProficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams WebEx and SharePoint coupled with advanced MS Excel capabilities for analysis
