The Berkeley is looking for an experienced and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team. If you take pride in preparing delicious home-style meals and enjoy creating food that people look forward to wed love to meet you!

Youll prepare fresh meals from scratch for approximately 80residents working from a five-week rotating menu with two choices at each service. This is an opportunity to build relationships with the people you cook for and see the difference your work makes every day.

What Youll Do

  • Prepare fresh ingredients and meals from scratch including appetizers entrĂ©es desserts and baked goods.
  • Follow our five-week rotational menu recipes and meal plans while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Assist the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations and special events.
  • Work closely with the kitchen and serving team to ensure meals are prepared and served on time.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality cleanliness sanitation and safety.
  • Keep your work area organized and productive throughout the day.
  • Work confidently both independently and as part of a team.

What Were Looking For

  • 2 years of experience as a Cook.
  • Culinary certificate or equivalent experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen best practices.
  • Excellent and safe knife-handling skills.
  • Strong food preparation and banquet-style cooking skills.
  • Baking experience is an asset.
  • Ability to follow recipes and meal plans consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail while working efficiently.
  • Excellent communication organization and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to stay productive during slower periods.
  • Positive attitude reliability and a strong team spirit.
