As a Control Center Operator 3 you will be a fully competent working-level operator responsible for independently monitoring controlling and optimizing pipeline operations across qualified Areas of Responsibility (AORs). Working in a 24/7 control center environment you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe reliable and efficient transportation of energy products through advanced monitoring and control systems.


This role requires strong operational knowledge sound judgment and the ability to analyze and respond to both routine and abnormal operating conditions while maintaining compliance with operating procedures regulatory requirements and safety standards. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives and provide guidance to less experienced operators.

What Youll Do

  • Independently monitor and control pipeline systems across qualified Areas of Responsibility using SCADA and related control systems.
  • Execute operating activities in accordance with approved procedures operating limits and safety standards.
  • Analyze planned and unplanned operational changes maintenance activities outages and interruptions to minimize impacts and restore normal operations safely and efficiently.
  • Respond to operational alarms abnormal conditions and system upsets by assessing impacts taking appropriate actions and escalating as required.
  • Coordinate with field operations connecting carriers terminals refineries schedulers and other stakeholders to maintain operational continuity.
  • Execute complex operational activities including system changes maintenance support and operational procedures.
  • Implement customer requests and operational changes while balancing safety quality and commercial considerations.
  • Maintain accurate operational records shift logs reports and communications to ensure effective shift handover and operational continuity.
  • Participate in audits compliance activities operational reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the training development and mentorship of junior controllers by sharing operational knowledge and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operating procedures system performance and operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to a team culture focused on safety accountability collaboration and continuous learning.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 to 7 years of progressive experience in pipeline operations process operations control room operations or a related industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated competency in control center operations and qualification across multiple Areas of Responsibility.
  • Advanced working knowledge of SCADA and control room operating systems.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline operations operating limits and system constraints.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational issues and respond appropriately under changing conditions.
  • Strong decision-making skills in a safety-critical operating environment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders and operating groups.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to safety regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a technical field (Degree/Diploma and/or Certificate).
  • Experience in liquids pipeline operations terminal operations refinery operations petrochemical facilities or other continuous process industries.
  • Fundamental knowledge of pipeline hydraulics and flow management.
  • Experience participating in operational audits incident investigations process improvement initiatives or procedure development.
  • Experience coaching mentoring or supporting the development of less experienced operators.

This Position Requires Candidates To

  • Work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule including nights weekends and holidays.
  • Successfully complete pre-employment medical drug and alcohol testing.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform effectively in a high-consequence safety-sensitive operating environment.
  • Participate in emergency response and abnormal operating condition management activities.
  • Maintain required operator qualifications and successfully complete ongoing training programs.
