Composites Process Lead
Job Summary
Scope of Position:
The Composites process Leads plays a critical role in for quoting and repairing parts for all projects while leading initiatives to improve workflow quality and operational efficiency. This role ensures safety and quality standards are met supports the onboarding of new hires and drives continuous improvement across processes. The position requires strong collaboration with production teams management and other departments to ensure smooth operations and successful project launches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair specialist Quote and repair parts for all projects.
- Analyze existing workflow and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement processes that optimize the performance quality and efficiency of operations.
- Ensure quality control measures are in place and being achieved. Maintaining consistency reducing defected parts and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.
- Lead the transition for process changes. Ensuring that all staff are adequately aware and trained.
- Perform all other duties as determined by the General Manager or his designate
- Maintenance checks on all fixtures
- Attend all required training courses.
Continuous Improvement
- Ongoing review of current processes to Identify areas for process improvements and development of robustness/efficiency improvements.
- Research and development.
- Train new hires as needed (employee onboarding-Trim and Assembly area)
- Participate in MAMTs continuous improvement activities (Kaizen and Gear).
Safety and Quality
- Ensure a safe working environment and enforce safety protocols including compliance with OSHA.
- Maintain high-quality standards ensuring products meet customer requirements and industry regulations.
- Follow all documented quality ISO 9001 procedures
Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with production staff management and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments and divisions to ensure seamless operations.
- Join team in pre-emptive review of new project trim and assembly processes for best practices and identification of possible pitfalls prior to launch.
- Foster good employee relations
Key Relationships
- Composites Manager
Basic Requirements:
- Technical training in composites and automotive manufacturing.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in composites manufacturing. Structural and body repair fixture design and set up wet lamination resin infusion complex assemblies.
- Previous experience working with carbon fiber
- Experience with sanding trimming bonding tooling
- Skilled in use of hand tools (e.g. grinders sanders rotary tools air tools).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings rework instructions or quality deviation reports.
- Knowledge of surface prep bonding agents adhesives and finishing materials.
- Familiarity with inspection tools such as calipers micrometers and gauges.
- Understanding of curing processes and defect identification.
Measurement Bases:
- Production of product which conforms to required specifications.
- Completion of tasks within allocated time
- Compliance with company safety rules policies and procedures
- Harmonious relations with other employees
- All areas identified on the Performance Review form
