Community Disability Services Worker

Lethbridge Family Services(LFS) is seeking a community disability services worker to join our team! Thisposition will provide support in our DaCapo this role you willfacilitate the development of skills and competencies to assist individualswith intellectual disabilities brain injuries and/or fetal alcohol spectrumdisorders to pursue and achieve their goals by accessing meaningfulcommunity-based activities.

Community disabilityservices workers:

support individuals toparticipate in meaningful community-based employment community and volunteerplacements recreation and leisure and life skills activities

complete personal careroutines which may include assistance with eating routines administeringmedications ostomy care and/or operating a mechanical lift

support people withnonverbal communication methods

promote healthy andactive lifestyles

assist with skilldevelopment in areas such as daily living activities and social interactionsand

complete requireddocumentation.

Required skills andqualifications:

high school diplomaand/or two years direct frontline experience in the field

reliable vehicle validdrivers license registration and insurance ($liability insurance)

physically able to safelysupport individuals in activities such as lifting and transferring

ability to workindependently as well as in a team environment

strong communications inboth verbal and written English and

ability to be flexibleand adapt to changes.

All new employees must provide a policeinformation check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 90 days priorto the date of hire.

Hours: Casual/Relief Variable

Most hours arebetween Monday Friday 8:30am 3:30pm
