4-Month Co-op Term January 2027 to April 2027
Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

Our Fraud & Forensics team is seeking a Co-op Student to support fraud risk management investigative activities data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Reporting to the Manager Fraud & Forensics you will gain hands-on experience supporting projects that help identify assess and mitigate fraud risks while promoting accountability integrity and effective controls. This role provides an opportunity to work with experienced professionals and develop practical skills in fraud prevention investigations analytics and risk management.
What will I be doing
- Support fraud risk assessment prevention and awareness initiatives across the organization.
- Assist with collecting organizing validating and analyzing information to support investigations and fraud-related projects.
- Perform research data analysis and documentation to identify trends anomalies and potential areas of risk.
- Prepare reports presentations workpapers and other project documentation.
- Support the development and maintenance of tracking tools spreadsheets databases and dashboards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and support fraud and forensic engagements.
- Assist with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the Fraud & Forensics team.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
Required:
- Currently enrolled full-time in a recognized post-secondary co-op program and eligible to complete a co-op work term as part of your academic requirements with plans to return to school following the work term.
- Enrolled in Accounting Finance Commerce Business Administration Criminology Data Analytics Economics Computer Science Mathematics Public Administration or a related field.
- Strong analytical research problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Assets:
- Knowledge of fraud risk management investigations auditing compliance internal controls or risk management.
- Experience analyzing data and identifying trends or anomalies.
- Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Interest in governance ethics accountability and organizational integrity.
