We are seeking a skilled CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist to join a precision manufacturing environment. This role involves setting up programming and operating CNC equipment to produce medium to large components with high accuracy. The ideal candidate is experienced detail-oriented and capable of working independently while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up program and operate CNC horizontal boring mills using FANUC or HEIDENHAIN controls
- Review part specifications and confirm feasibility prior to machining
- Ensure all tooling and setup requirements are prepared before starting production
- Perform in-process inspections to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements
- Monitor machine performance including identifying irregular sounds or vibrations
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency
- Complete routine machine checks in line with preventive maintenance programs
- Follow company procedures quality standards and safety protocols
- Use overhead cranes to handle and position large components (where applicable)
- Support and mentor junior team members as needed
Experience & Qualifications
- 510 years of hands-on experience with CNC horizontal boring mills
- Strong familiarity with FANUC and/or HEIDENHAIN control systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and tolerances
- Experience machining medium to large precision components
- Knowledge of Mastercam or similar CAM software
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and cutting tool selection
- Experience with manual tools such as grinders is considered an asset
- Overhead crane experience is preferred
- Physically capable of handling tools and navigating a shop environment
- Regular lifting of tools (approximately 2030 lbs)
- Movement throughout the facility including stairs and shop floor access
- Availability for day and afternoon shifts for overtime if required
