Hatfield is seeking a Cloud Information Systems Technician to join our Information Services and Technology (IST) team. The successful candidate will support the operations and management of a wide variety of cloud-based information systems. These systems include both commercial and in-house applications hosted on Azure running on Kubernetes Linux and Windows virtual machines and other Azure services.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain operational cloud-based information systems. This includes provisioning and configuring cloud resources creating maintenance plans applying security patches rotating secrets updating applications and migrating applications to new environments.

  • Monitor security updates for all systems including system dependencies and work to ensure all vulnerabilities are addressed on a timely basis.

  • Write execute and maintain runbook procedures for the operational maintenance of all systems. Where possible write scripts or other tools to automate the maintenance of all systems.

  • Maintain approved software environments Python packages dependencies and container images.

  • Provide end-user support and training for system changes. This can include creating delivering and maintaining end-user training and documentation for each system.

  • Participate in cost optimization forecasting and reporting for all cloud infrastructure.

  • Support all disaster recovery plans and procedures.

  • Occasional after-hours work may be required to maintain the integrity and efficiency of our systems.

Education and Experience

  • Formal education in Computer Systems Technology Information Systems Computer Science or related field is preferred but not required.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience is preferred.

  • Experience with Linux and Windows servers.

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with Azure or other cloud systems (AWS or GCP).

  • Experience with various programming languages including Python Go PowerShell and bash.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Other Assets / Skills

  • Strong operational procedure driven work ethic.

  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-code particularly bicep scripts.

  • Experience with DevOps tooling particularly with ArgoCD.

  • Experience developing or supporting platforms operating on Kubernetes.
