Clerk 1 Receptionist
Job Summary
- Greet and assist visitors and members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Operate and manage the office switchboard and direct incoming calls appropriately.
- Receive respond to and route routine inquiries.
- Prepare format organize and file correspondence and other office documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized paper and electronic files.
- Perform general clerical and administrative tasks in accordance with established procedures.
- Order and maintain supplies for various office equipment and administrative needs.
- Receive sort distribute and deliver inter-office mail.
- Assist with routine office coordination and administrative activities.
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail when completing assigned clerical work.
- Follow established policies procedures and instructions while working under direct supervision.
- Provide professional service to internal staff visitors and members of the public.
- Grade XI education plus related experience OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Related experience performing clerical and/or receptionist duties.
- Ability to perform standardized clerical tasks according to established methods and procedures.
- Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to greet and interact professionally with the public.
- Ability to perform duties involving switchboard/telephone operations.
- Experience with preparing and filing correspondence and office documentation.
- Ability to handle office supplies and routine administrative requirements.
- Ability to manage and distribute inter-office mail.
- Ability to work effectively under direct supervision and follow established procedures.
Required Skills:
Grade XI education or equivalent. Related clerical/reception experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience performing standardized clerical tasks using established methods and procedures. Ability to provide professional reception and public-facing service including greeting and assisting visitors. Ability to operate a switchboard/telephone system and appropriately direct calls. Experience with preparing and filing correspondence and documentation. Ability to handle routine administrative duties with a strong emphasis on accuracy. Ability to order office supplies and support general office operations. Ability to handle and distribute inter-office mail. Ability to work effectively under direct supervision and follow established procedures. Strong communication organization attention to detail and customer-service skills. 100% onsite availability in Bridgewater Nova Scotia for the duration of the assignment.
Required Education:
Grade XI education or equivalent.
