Clerk 1 Receptionist (ADM02)
Job Summary
- Greet and assist members of the public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Operate the office switchboard and direct incoming calls appropriately.
- Prepare organize process and file correspondence in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized files and records.
- Order supplies for various office equipment as required.
- Receive sort and distribute inter-office mail.
- Provide general clerical and administrative support to the office.
- Follow established methods procedures and instructions when completing assigned tasks.
- Ensure clerical work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Perform other related clerical duties as assigned under direct supervision.
- Grade XI education plus related experience OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Related clerical/reception experience.
- Ability to perform standardized clerical duties using established methods and procedures.
- Strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to interact professionally with the public and office staff.
- Ability to work effectively under direct supervision.
- Previous experience in a receptionist clerk administrative assistant or general office support role.
- Experience greeting members of the public and handling front-desk inquiries.
- Experience operating a switchboard or handling a high volume of incoming calls.
- Experience preparing and filing correspondence and maintaining office records.
- Experience ordering and tracking office supplies.
- Experience handling and distributing incoming/outgoing or inter-office mail.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Professional and courteous customer-service approach.
- Grade XI education or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Related clerical/reception experience.
- Reception/front-desk and public-facing experience.
- Switchboard/telephone handling experience where applicable.
- Correspondence preparation and filing experience.
- General office/clerical support experience.
- Ability to follow established procedures with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Availability for the full assignment period: September 24 2026 October 16 2026.
- Ability to work on-site in Middleton Nova Scotia Monday to Friday 7 hours per day.

Work Environment This is an on-site position based at the Government of Nova Scotia / NS Housing Corporation office at: 101 Magee Middleton Nova Scotia The successful candidate will be expected to work 5 days per week 7 hours per day during the assignment.
