Class AZ or DZ Hydrovac DriverOperator, Pressure & Vacuum

CEDA is currently seeking 3 highly experienced self-motivated responsible Hydrovac Driver/Operators to operate and maintain a variety of hydrovac equipment and various specialty tools.  Locations for these positions will be required for various mining operations within Sudbury or areas north!

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate proficiently hydrovac equipment high pressure water equipment and various specialty tools
• Complete minor maintenance and checks on hydrovac equipment
• Proficient in driving manual transmissions
• 90% of your day is outside of the truck boots on the ground!
• Provide guidance to Labourers as required
• Ensure safety for all team members and property
• Work as part of a team and follow direction from supervision
• Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Complete required paperwork for unit pre-trip inspections job reports and safety documents
• Strictly observe and enforce all company and client safety requirements
• Challenge your eye for detail practice what we preach. Take your time get the job done right the first time and safely every time
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid class AZ or DZ licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last two years
• 2-3 years of directly related work experience operating hydrovacs is required
• Must pass a CEDAs Driver Assessment in a manual transmission (10 13 and 18 speed)
• Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Able to travel throughout Ontario (flexibility in scheduling is required)

Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
• Experience and comfort with confined spaces
• Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
• Comfortable with the use of additional respiratory equipment and air supply; wearing a full face mask and carrying your own source of oxygen
• Youre happiest working in a team sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
