Class 1 Driver

Midland Transportis currently seeking aprofessional Class 1 Night Driver based in Truro NS. The selected candidate will be a reliable person with a strong work ethic positive attitude and a commitment to providing a Superior Quality service.

Main Role:

This run departs from Truro nightly and typically follow the route: Truro to Moncton. From Moncton to various terminals throughout the Maritimes Dartmouth Charlottetown Saint John Fredericton Kentville or Sydney.

Shift: Sun-Thurs (19:00-7:00)

Move trailers safely and efficiently between the plant and yard
Complete regular yard checks including verifying all equipment onsite fuel levels reefer settings and inside box temperatures
Communicate any equipment issues to the Midland Shop or to Logistics for outside carriers ensuring no compromised equipment goes unidentified
Execute other tasks as required
Occasional moves between terminals as required

Education Required: High School or GED.
Class 1 drivers license with a minimum of 3 years safe tractor driving experience required.
Clean drivers abstract and criminal search.
Good communication skills.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to lift to 50 lbs. using the proper equipment.
Excellent work ethic and reliability.
Safety conscious.
