Job Summary

The Project Coordinator supports the planning coordination and execution of construction activities for Ontario Transit Groups major transit infrastructure projects. Working closely with project management site supervision subcontractors and stakeholders the Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating schedules procurement documentation and field operations to ensure work is delivered safely efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. 

The role supports quality assurance cost control reporting and the management of technical documentation while helping resolve construction challenges and maintain project progress. Success in this position requires strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced construction environment. 

The salary range for this position is $80000 CAD - $110000 CAD plus additional benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Coordination 

  • Coordinate project schedules resources equipment and project information to support the successful execution of construction activities.
  • Plan and prepare upcoming construction works by coordinating methodologies design deliverables procurement requirements permits and stakeholder approvals. 
  • Review construction drawings specifications technical documents and contract requirements to support project execution. 
  • Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) change order documentation permitting requirements traffic management plans utility coordination and land access information. 
  • Participate in project meetings and coordination sessions to support issue resolution and alignment between project stakeholders. 

Construction & Field Operations 

  • Ensure all site activities are completed in compliance with health and safety legislation project safety requirements environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor daily construction activities and coordinate with site supervisors subcontractors and project teams to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of materials equipment and services mitigating potential delays. 
  • Identify and escalate construction constraints risks and schedule impacts while supporting the implementation of mitigation measures. 
  • Liaise with internal departments subcontractors consultants utility providers and stakeholders to facilitate efficient project delivery. 

Quality Compliance & Documentation 

  • Support quality assurance and quality control processes by verifying work is performed in accordance with approved drawings specifications inspection and test plans and project requirements. 
  • Coordinate inspections deficiency tracking testing activities and corrective actions to ensure compliance with project standards. 
  • Prepare organize and compile as-built records turnover packages quality documentation and project closeout records. 
  • Maintain accurate project files correspondence document control systems meeting minutes and construction records in accordance with project requirements. 
  • Ensure project documentation is complete current and readily available to support audits inspections and operational requirements. 

Reporting Cost Control & Project Analysis 

  • Track and report on project progress productivity schedule performance and key construction milestones across Ontario Line South. 
  • Provide project management with data analysis performance metrics and reporting to support decision-making and project controls activities. 
  • Assist with monthly cost reporting forecasting quantity tracking and reconciliation processes. 
  • Monitor labor equipment material usage and subcontractor performance to support productivity and cost management initiatives. 
  • Support the identification of trends risks opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution and operational efficiency

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering Engineering Technology or a related discipline preferred. 
  • PMP designation is an asset. 
  • Relevant industry certifications including health and safety training (e.g. OSHA Working at Heights or equivalent) are considered advantageous. 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in construction coordination project coordination civil infrastructure or a related construction environment. 
  • Experience supporting heavy civil transportation transit or infrastructure projects is considered an asset. 
  • Ability to read interpret and understand construction drawings specifications contracts schedules and technical documentation. 
  • Working knowledge of construction methodologies project controls procurement processes and document management practices. 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately review track and manage project documentation and project data. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with project teams subcontractors consultants suppliers and stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and support the resolution of project-related issues. 
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and contribute to practical solutions. 
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and delivering results within established deadlines. 
  • Adaptable and flexible with the willingness to adjust work schedules when required to support project demands and critical milestones. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety quality teamwork and continuous improvement. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel Word Outlook and related business applications.
