OCL Group Inc. is proudly 100% Canadian owned and operated. We are a privately held employee-owned fully integrated general contractor with design-build solutions across Western Canada. We have been serving the energy and municipal infrastructure markets since 2009.

The formation of OCL was a direct result of a few long-tenured industry professionals with entrepreneurial spirits wanting to get back to their roots and build an organization where people matter. The Role

We are currently recruiting for experienced reliable and hard-working Skilled Civil Labourers to join our team at a project in Fort McMurray AB.

Compensation/Benefits

• CLAC hourly wages
• Payday is every Friday
• Company contributed RRSP & Pension contributions
• Benefits after 300 hours
• Paid training
• 10% vacation and stat holiday pay on regular earnings
• OT at 1.5 after 8 hours per day

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Complete tasks in line with OCL and industry standards procedures and practices
• Assist skilled trades as required
• Operate basic hand and power tools safety and effectively
• Perform spotting and flagging duties when required
• Read and understand site-specific instructions prior to each shift
• Site cleaning and preparation
• Maintain a clean and organized work area / job site
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings
• Perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Skilled Labourer in industrial construction environments
• Experience digging trenches operating ground tools like packers pumps rakes and shovels
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools
• Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and hazard awareness
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding manual labour (lifting up to 50lbs bending standing and working in various weather conditions)
• Ensure a safe team environment. Strong teamwork skills with a positive and reliable work ethic
• Strong communication skills. Ability to follow and understand instructions given.
• Must have reliable transportation a valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
• Must have the following safety tickets: WHMIS 2015 CSTS 2020 (or equivalent) H2S Alive is an asset
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
