Childrens Ministry CoordinatorSt. Pauls Anglican Church20 Young Road Kanata OntarioSt. Pauls is a suburban parish in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa with a growing childrens ministry. Were seeking a part-time position to coordinate ministries for elementary-school aged children focussed primarily on Sundays. Start date is negotiable but ideally begins on September 1 active and vibrant Christian faith and commitment to the communal life of the church.A love for children and passion for their formation as followers of ability to communicate in ways compatible with childrens learning stylesBasic administrative abilitiesPrevious experience in teaching is an assetExhibiting wisdom and loving compassion towards children and familiesComfortable working within the liturgical and theological tradition of the Anglican Church of CanadaMinistry ResponsibilitiesFormation of children concurrent with Sunday morning services (75%)Successfully deliver weekly care for elementary school aged children at our 9:00am & 11am services from September to cooperation with parish clergy implement curriculum for kindergarten through grade 6Recruit screen train oversee and support volunteer teamFoster a good relationship with parents and maintain a visible profile in the churchMaintain an orderly Sunday School room and keep necessary supplies stockedMinistry with families outside of Sunday mornings (25%)Keep regular contact with parents and families ensuring they are aware of upcoming events and the content of lessonsAssist in engaging children in our Christmas Eve family servicePlan implement and manage yearly budget and provide yearly written report to vestry (our churchs annual general meeting)Time Commitment10 hours per week from September June including the followingApproximately 4.5 hours per week at the church on Sundays leading Sunday school (September June)Approximately 1 hour per month for a regular planning meeting with clergy. Times and dates are hours can normally be self-allocated to prepare curriculum liaise with volunteers complete administrative tasks and other tasks to support active childrens ministry. This work can normally be completed remotely in consultation with parish wage range is $22-25 per hour depending on the level of education and experience the successful applicant brings to the position.
