CASUAL DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

THIS IS A HIGH INTENSITY LOCATION WITH MULTIPLE PHYSICAL AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOURS OCCURING AT THE SAME TIME. The successful candidate must have proven experience supporting multiple people with high behavior needs. The Relief Support provides call-in or back-fill support to people supported. They assist with activities of daily living and work within the protocols of the location. They work with other employees on shift to provide supports and services to people. Working within Karis Disability Services Service Principles the Relief Support considers each persons intrinsic value.

Requirements:

• Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Access to reliable transportation

Preferred:

• 3-6 Months Experience (volunteer or employment)
• Developmental Services Worker Child and Youth Worker or post-secondary education in a related field
