Cardiology Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) Pulse Veterinary Specialists & EmergencyPulse Veterinary Specialists & Emergency is seeking an experienced and empowered Cardiology Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) to join our growing specialty team. The Cardiology RVT will act as a highly skilled and professional RVT on the clinical floor setting a strong example of patient care client service and is a unique opportunity to support the continued growth of our Cardiology Service including the addition of a new residency-trained Cardiology DVM while collaborating closely with our cardiology team and hospital specialists to provide exceptional patient and client to the Lead Specialty RVT the ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced specialty environment embraces Pulse Veterinarys mission and values and consistently upholds the highest standards of medicine and patient Veterinary Specialists & Emergency is an emergency and multi-specialty hospital in Sherwood Park Alberta open since March 2020. Our mission is to provide exceptional veterinary care through access to advanced diagnostic tools dedicated doctors and compassionate support staff in a warm and supportive team position offers a compressed work week of four 10-hour shifts scheduled Monday through Friday with opportunities to pick up additional overtime and ResponsibilitiesTechnical Responsibilities of the Cardiology RVTThe Cardiology RVT performs all technical responsibilities associated with the role including but not limited to:Clinical & Patient CareUsage and care of medical equipment including proper sterilization IV catheters and calculating drug doses fluid requirements and higher-risk anesthesia for cardiac patients ventilator setup direct arterial pressure monitoring and advanced cardiac monitoring and identification of arrhythmias requiring CPR and assisting with setup and use of a diagnostic-quality and assisting with advanced diagnostics including:EchocardiogramsFluoroscopyDiagnostic ECGsHolter monitoringTelemetryOR setup for interventional procedures and pressure injector setup for hospitalized cardiac patients performing recovery care and assisting with specialized treatments including cardiac catheterization and pacemaker Education & SupportProviding education home care instructions and nutritional counseling to management of customer concerns professionally and compassionately alongside the specialty and leadership Leadership & CollaborationOpenly and proactively communicating updates to Cardiology DVMs Lead Specialty RVT and other department team interdepartmental collaboration and maintaining strong communication with all hospital as a positive role model for patient care teamwork and hospital & ComplianceMaintaining practice software including client and patient record all SOPs to support smooth hospital to all federal and provincial animal health laws and workplace health and safety & ExperienceDiploma in Animal Health RVT experience preferred ideally in Cardiology Emergency ICU or Specialty Skills & AbilitiesExceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication approach to cases and team active listening and problem-solving to communicate difficult or sensitive information professionally and time management and organizational skills including the ability to multitask and prioritize interest and initiative to help Pulse Veterinary continue to grow and initiative and desire to be an integral part of the growth and development of the specialty motivation for personal and professional BenefitsPulse employees receive:Competitive compensation packageContinuing education benefitPersonal pet discountProfessional duesUniform allowanceShift differential (where applicable)Paid sick days and time offOpportunities for growth and professional developmentAccess to a diverse team with varied experience and knowledgeSubmit your application through the job posting or join a supportive team where you can thrive and make an impact every day.
